CANX Ashridge Golf Club Junior Open Rules

1. The Competition will take place under the Rules of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews in
conjunction with the local Rules of the Ashridge Golf Club. The Ashridge Junior Competition will be won
by the player returning the lowest gross medal score over 18 holes.
2. The field is limited to 42 players. Entrants must hold a current official handicap not exceeding eighteen
(boys) or twenty-four (girls) under the Standard Scratch Score and Handicapping Scheme of World
Handicap System. If necessary to reduce the field to 42, a ballot of entrants on handicap will take place.
3. All entrants must return a signed welfare & photo permission form to the office, entries will not be
accepted with out these completed.
4. The Entrance Fee to include tea and prize fund will be £40.00.
5. Tea will be served after play has been completed. Please notify us of any dietary requirements.
6. Prizes will be awarded to the best three gross scores; the best three nett scores over 18 holes; and a
Nearest the Pin competition. No competitor may win more than one prize. In the event of equal scores, the
winners will be determined by card countback.
7. Competitors will be able to play the course, subject to availability, for practice play after 4.30 p.m. on
Monday 23rd August and Tuesday 24th August for a concessionary rate of £15 per competitor. Practice
from back marker plates is strictly forbidden.
8. Dress rules will be relaxed for lunch and tea in the Dining Room but competitors are expected to bring a
change of shoes for tea. A reasonable standard of dress is expected on the course and knee length or
short white socks may be worn with tailored shorts. Any form of jeans etc, trainers or flip-flops are not
acceptable whether worn by competitors or visitors to the clubhouse.
9. No caddies will be allowed. Parents or adults must keep a minimum of 50 yards away from players and
must not interfere with play or offer advice of any sort and must not encroach on tees or greens. Viewing
on several holes is possible from the clubhouse.
10. No refunds of the entry fee will be given after 14th August 2021
11.The decision of the Committee of Ashridge Golf Club shall be final in the event of any dispute.
